The parent of this variety is the very old Brandywine, first mentioned back in 1880.
The dark colored variety was bred by Dr. Harold E. Martin by crossing "Brandywine" and "Fejee improved" in 1920 in Pennsylvania.
Medium ripening (85 days from germination), weighing 200-300 g (up to 450 g).
Tall (up to 180 cm), indeterminate.
A plant is formed into 2-3 stems, tying and pinching is mandatory. The leaves are large, potato type.
Designed for growing in open ground and greenhouses.
