* To destroy pathogens of bacterial, fungal and viral diseases present on or inside seeds,
as well as protect young seedlings from pathogens found in the soil,
vegetable seeds before germination are disinfected for 15-20 minutes in a 1% solution of potassium permanganate (1 g of the drug in half a glass of water),
and then washed well in clean water. After this treatment, the seeds become brown in colour.
Another effective method of preparing difficult-to-germinate seeds (celery, eggplant, pepper) for sowing is bubbling:
treatment of seeds in water saturated with oxygen. Seedlings from bubbling seeds appear much earlier than from dry ones.
At home, bubbling is carried out as follows: water is poured into a jar for 2/3 of the volume and the tip from the compressor is lowered to the bottom,
used for aerating water in aquariums. Then seeds are poured (they should be 4 times less than the mass of water) and the compressor is turned on in the network.
Make sure that the seeds, along with water and air bubbles, are always in motion.
The duration of bubbling - until germination: for celery seeds - 7 days, eggplant - 2 days, pepper - 3 days.
