Kohlrabi "Gigant"

Kohlrabi "GIGANT".
A late white variety with particularly large stems which do not lignify. The stems can reach 3,0-5,0 kg in weight. The flash is resistant to crackling and lignification.
It can be used as feed for livestock. The growing time from sowing to harvest is 130-150 days. The recommended plant spacing is 40 x 40 cm.
* Kohlrabi requires well-cultivated, deep, fertile soils and regular watering, especially in hot weather while the heads are growing. Even thought most of our varieties are highly resistant to stem splitting, by regular watering and pest management this problem can be virtually eliminated. Small farmers are recommended to cover plants with a non-woven textiles. Most of the early varieties are grown as seedlings in trays or containers, later on in greenhouses or in the field. Late varieties like TROJA F1 and GIGANT can be sown directly in the field.

Weight per 1000 seeds = 3,4-4,8 g.
Number of seeds in 1,0 g  = 210-280.

Стабильный урожай и хорошая лёжкость. Чемпион среди капуст по содержанию питательных веществ.
Стеблеплоды до 2 кг. Позднеспелый сорт. Период от высадки рассады до созревания 70-75 дней (от всходов до сбора 130-150 дней).
Стеблеплоды округлые, диаметром 15-20 см, верхушка вогнутая, окраска кожуры белёсо-зелёная. Мякоть белая, вкусная, нежная. Масса стеблеплода 1,5-2,0 кг.
Рекомендуется для использования в свежем виде, переработки и зимнего хранения.
Время посева: Апрель.

Способы посадки: открытый грунт, рассада.
Расстояние между растениями: 15 см.
Расстояние между рядами: 30 см.
