* How to prolong the fruiting of cucumbers at the end of summer?
To prolong the fruiting of cucumbers, the first step is to remove old, yellowed and diseased leaves, as well not fruiting branches and thin  shoots.
The lack of light in plants slows down the absorption of nutrients and water. In addition, well-ventilated bushes are less likely to suffer from diseases.
Cucumbers take longer to bear fruit if they have healthy leaves. Since the roots at this time already poorly absorb fertilizers, foliar feeding is necessary. Urea will help to grow new branches and leaves, it is enough to carry out two dressings with an interval of 7-10 days. They will not only make up for the lack of nitrogen, but also increase the immunity of plants. To prepare a solution, 5 tablespoons of urea and one spoon of trace elements are dissolved in 10 liters of water (top dressing should be carried out in the evening or on a cloudy day).
Foliar dressing with complex fertilizers with microelements is also well absorbed during this period. Regularly spraying the bushes with them on the leaves nourishes the plants and inhibits the development of diseases.
To activate the formation of new fruits, fresh soil is poured under the bushes with a layer of 5-7 cm.It is useful to add humus or pour mullein infusion into it (or chicken droppings diluted 1:10 or herbal infusion - 1: 2 are also suitable).
Attention: you should not spud the plants, as you can damage the young roots located on the surface.
